My sweet little nephew, Nash, turned the big ONE earlier this month.
I was so glad he came to Houston to visit me! Every child needs 1st year portraits and I feel so blessed that I’m able to give my family the gift of photography. I cant think of anything more endearing and sentimental than that!
As always, Im sharing a few adorable images for you to feast your peepers on…. and then ….
…..a giveaway opportunity!
If that last picture doesn’t make you smile, you’re hopeless!
I’m so grateful to be doing what I do and want to give back to you: I love celebrating baby’s first year so much that I’ve decided to give away a free studio Baby’s Christmas mini session.
If you have a baby aged 5-12 months and would love a FREE Christmas themed mini session ($215 value) please leave a comment sharing your favorite Christmas tradition below. A winner will be chosen, at random, Monday, November 3rd. Session to take place no later than December 12th in my home studio located in Fulshear, Texas (45 minutes west of downtown Houston, just outside of Katy, Texas).
The catch? Be sure to like Lorena Jean Photography on Facebook. Non fans will be disqualified. Easy peasy. 🙂
Good luck!!
& because no post is complete without some vendor love: Clothing from Thelma & Theo. Seriously cool clothes for girls & boys!
UPDATE: Drawing is complete. I numbered each entry and my husband picked a random number. He picked number 1, TRACY GUARA. Congratulations Tracy and see you either late this month or early next!
My favorite Christmas tradition is opening up one gift on Christmas Eve…the hardest part is picking out which one. In my experience, go for the smallest box;)
My husband picked number 1, and thats you! Congrats. See you early December!
My absolute favorite Christmas Tradition is making my Great Grandmother’s chocolate gravy. She will be 95 in February 2015 and has made this deliciousness since my Gramps (her son, My Grandpa) was a boy. It is great with her from scratch buttermilk biscuits. I have learned to make and my husband loves it! I hope that it continues being made for traditions – it has already gone thru 5 generations.
Chocolate gravy? Is it sweet? That sounds interesting.
Lorena – it is sweet but not too sweet.
Every year, i pack all the holiday cards we received in an envelope and place it in one of the storage bins with all the Christmas decorations. That way, I get to re-discover them the year after that as I decorate my Christmas tree. So sweet to see how everyone has changed from one year to the next! 🙂
My favorite tradition is making and eating bunuelos. They’re easy enough but time in the kitchen with mom and sisters, the smell of cinnamon and sugar, hot chocolate. Yum!
My favorite Christmas tradition (although I guess it’s only partially mine) is waiting for my dad to open his gifts. Ever since we were little, he always spent all of his time on Christmas morning helping us open/put together/find batteries for our gifts. So after we were all finished, he would still have a pile. Even though we are all grown now and he is now a grandpa (!), he still hoards his gifts in a pile in the corner and opens them last.
My favorite tradition is the white elephant gift exchange with my inlaws! The gifts get more and more outrageous as the years go on and some gifts make yearly comebacks!
Hey Lorena, can I participate even if André is not 5 months old just yet? I wanted to share our Christmas tradition
We love to get our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. When the eggnog finally hits the shelves it makes it into my fridge immediately! Oh, and mimosas Christmas morning:)
