When photographing newborns, its best to photograph them in the first two weeks. While it may seem crazy, there is a method to the madness. Babies tend to be sleepier and moldable during that time frame. While photographs after 2 weeks are definitely possible, just keep in mind that baby might not be as flexible which limits some poses. They may also be a bit more alert and aware of their surroundings. If that’s the case, I typically will do more wrapped shots. Babies love being swaddled and it usually gets them to sleep! I try to get both, wrapped and nakey baby shots, in for all sesssions- I love them both and love offering the variety!
